FAMED and Michael Riedel collaborate for the project Finissage for the first time and developed it specifically for the inauguration of ASPN’s new space. At the opening, the gallery system collapses completely: the room remains as bare shell and is thus actually not appropriable for use as an exhibition space. The Finissage forms the programmatic outset of the new gallery space, beginning and end are inverted. What is there to see? The renovation and modifications of the gallery progresses during the exhibition, at the end of the exhibition the conversion will be completed. Art as a functional system and as a commodity will be debated in this sixweek project. The walls remain empty, and yet it is possible to buy something: money.
